While we’re waiting for laser cutting to happen and sound system parts to arrive, I thought it’d be a good opportunity to show you the dash cam I have protecting the car, whether I’m driving or parked. The Thinkware U1000 4K UHD dashcam is a brilliant piece of kit and the Ivolt Mini battery pack makes it even more useful.

If you want the best dash cam possible, it’s wise to be able to capture as much detail as possible. A 4K dash cam captures literally 4 times as much detail as a normal 1080 HD camera, making number plates easier to identify, and perpetrators easier to see on the recorded footage. You can zoom in to small details and see them from further away in the image more easily. Thinkware’s cameras also boast great night vision, which is challenging at the best of times.

With the addition of the iVolt Mini battery pack, the Thinkware U1000 can record while parked, with no impact on the car battery. Since my car is often parked on the street during the day, it’s a great idea to catch any potential incidents while the car is parked, knowing that my car battery is always ready to go, and I’m getting as much run-time as possible. It’s definitely worth considering a battery pack with your dash cam installation to get the best possible result.
